Before we know it Spring will be upon us, and by popular demand, so will this festival......
Solid Entertainments is delighted to announce that Lincoln Blues, Rhythm & Rock Festival 4 will be returning to Lincoln Drill Hall on Sunday 14th May 2017!
Showcasing the quality of live music in the UK; with Climax Blues Band headlining and five other very different, but striking bands, this will undoubtedly be another a great festival and an occasion not to miss!
It’s been a long road…..but one thing’s for sure, the Climax Blues Band of today fly's the Climax flag with tremendous passion and style. Now there is a spring in their step, taking the band forward and already pleasing crowds throughout Europe, the ‘seamless’ transition in carrying on creating the unique Climax sound is the result of hard work, disguised by a band having a great time making music….
As soon as they strike their first note, the journey begins and Climax present their very special sound, just as they did when the band formed back in the late 60s and achieved such great success and recognition through the 70s and 80s, huge selling albums like FM / Live and Gold Plated, the 1976 hit single Couldn’t Get It Right (from Gold Plated) and I Love You in 1981. Have a walk down memory lane...Top of the Pops in 1976..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRVSSwJYqh0&feature=youtu.be
This year's full line-up comprises of:
Climax Blues Band - In the late 1960s one wouldn’t normally associate the town of Stafford with authentic blues, certainly not for a band of young lads.....well it just goes to show that geography and “great music” aren't mutually exclusive!
Chantel McGregor – If you measure an artist’s prospects by the company they keep, then Chantel has been moving in the right direction. Early in her career, Chantel was invited to perform with Joe Bonamassa, on two of his UK tours!
The Connie Lush Band – Connie is a singer songwriter, DJ and continues her love affair with audiences everywhere, bringing her enormous gusto for life and music wherever she goes! Blues is her business and business is very good indeed!
Catfish – With a presence at several major blues festivals the Great British R&B Festival in Colne (one of the largest blues festivals in the country) and Bluesfest at the 02 (one of the biggest in Europe), when you see them you will know why!
Southbound - Writing and playing their own Blues, Blues Rock, plus a little something in between, Southbound are heavily influenced by a heady mix of Blues, Southern Rock, Latin Rock and Motown.......a mix that makes them stand out!
Born Healer - Musically, Born Healer play soulful, heavy blues, with a groove, and Helen has been likened to such great names as Janis Joplin and Maggie Bell. To say that Robert Plant dropped into see them play last year speaks volumes!
With this calibre of artist stepping on stage, festival goers can expect to see top class live performances and hear a range of incredible sounds with sets that incorporate a creative mix of Blues, Rock and R & B, with a sprinkling of Soul in the mix!
No need to worry about searching for food and drinks on the day either, there will be a range of alcoholic/non-alcoholic beverages, real ales available and a varied menu that should meet everyone's taste!
